Thermal centres Calabria: Terme Sibarite

The Terme Sibarite are located in the Sila area in the most northern part of the region. There are five springs that offer bicarbonate and sulphuric waters that flow out at a temperature of 25 degrees. In the thermal centres the waters are used for baths, aerosol, inhalations, tubo-tympanic insufflations, vaginal irrigations. The mud of organic origin are a real richness and rare biological feature of this area in Calabria. This mud is obtained by specific phytobiological processes of maturation of weed belonging to different microbial groups. Lamezia Terme e Terme Luigiane

Very close to the sea, the Terme di Lamezia in the province of Cosenza are surrounded by the mountains in a huge secular forest. The waters used by the wellness hotel in this area of Calabria flow out of a spring named   “Caronte” at a temperature of 39 degrees. The Terme Luigiane are located on woody hills along the valley of Bagni river.

The water flow out of three hot springs, Caronte, la Minosse and Galleria Calda (42-47 degrees) that are at the basis of the Dolomitical cliff called “Dito del Diavolo” and from two cold springs with a temperature ranging from 15 and 20 degrees,  Galleria Fredda and Ferrata. The sulphur and other minerals present in the water reach the mud deposits and weed that grow, rich in vitamins and proteins. This generates the thermal vegetal mud,  that has a great therepeutic effectiveness and is also used to prepare cosmetic products and in ionophoresis. These properties are used by the hotels with wellness centres in Calabria to offer wellness treatments such as inhalation treatments, skin mud, humage. Terme di Caronte

At the feet of the mountain group Reventino, the Terme di Caronte, have healthy waters that treated the Greeks, Romans and Normans. The sulphur waters from the spring Caronte, the most important spring after which the Spa are named, have peculiar characteristics suitable to treat several pathologies and have a high content of minerals due to their passage along calcareous and crystalline soils underground.  The temperature of 39 degrees is due to the high geothermal gradient of this area, to the depth and speed at which the water reaches the surface.  The thermal centre also offers a big wellness area, where natural resources are combined with methods to treat flaws and remise en forme techniques.
