The thermal complex on the valley is surrounded by chestnut, pine trees and oaks. Fiuggi was founded in the Middle Age and has preserved remains of towers and walls. The water in Fiuggi has a low mineral content. Over the centuries an area made of tufa has been created naturally through which water flows at a depth of 8-20 metres below chestnut, pine trees and oaks. The tufa formation is characterised by permeable and semi-permeable layers through which water is filtered thus reducing mineralisation and guaranteeing the therapeutic properties.
