Fordongianus is located on a trachyte platform, close to the Tirso river. The baths built by the Emperor Trajan, dates back to the 1st century A.D. and uses the waters that come out of springs in Caddas at a temperature of 54 degrees. As concerns the remains it is still possible to see the wide rectangular pool (natation) once covered with a barrel vault and surrounded by a magnificent portico whose arches have been preserved. Another thermal complex was built in the third century A.D over the first one.
The Spa of Fordongianus are organized according to the traditional principles: frigidarium for the cold bath, tepidarium for the tepid bath and the calidarium for the hot bath.

Its origins date back to the Prehistory, as testified by the domus de janas and “nuraghi” like Casteddu Ecciu used in the following historical ages. The waters are salt-bicarbonate-fluorinated-thermo-active. The presence of radioactive remains make it advisable for thermal bath and mud therapy, but it can also be used for inhalations and hydropinic treatments. As concerns hydropinic treatments, they are advisable to treat obesity, gastritis, non-serious hepatic insufficiency and diarrhea but not in case of ulcer and spastic colitis.
