Levico Terme
The mineral waters of the “Terme di Levico” are unique in Italy and rare in Europe. They were already known in the seventeenth century and come out of the dolomites at an altitude of 1582 metres. They contain a high percentage of arsenic, iron which have a mild effect on the nervous system. These waters come out of the Monte Fronte at an altitude of 1550 metres from the caves of Vetriolo and Ocra: they are called strong and weak waters because of their different degree of mineralization. Terme di Merano

The waters come out of several springs called High Springs (Monte San Vigilio) and Low Springs (around the city).
They are cold waters with a low mineral content and contain radon, a water soluble gas. These waters have been used for therapeutic purposes since the 60s in particular to treat muscle, bone, joint and respiratory diseases, chronic phlebopathy and allergies. Recently a new type of sulphur water has been identified at a temperature of 33 degrees from a depth of 2350 metres.
