Reflexology is an ancient massage-based treatment that uses the same principles of acupuncture and shiatsu. Reflexology was born and developed in Russia thanks to the research by Sečenov, Bechterev and Pavlov, and thus the establishment of the school named “Pavlov school”.  Ivan M. Sečenov (1829-1905) made the first assumptions: he said that in order to explain the most complex processes we had to focus on the activity of the upper nervous centres located in the brain. Sečenov distinguished between  a "spinal reflex" for simple processes and a “brain reflex” for complex processes. The reflexology movement actually developed with  Bechterev (1857-1927), whose purpose was to spread an objective and experimental psychology, without any spiritual references. The object of the inquiry was the reflex. Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936) developed the most important systematic conceptions.

Now foot massage heals specific disorders like anxiety and stress. Since it stimulates some areas, a good physical and psychological balance is restored.  The sole of the foot has a lot of sensitive points that refer to a specific part of our body.
For example some points correspond to the urinary apparatus, the nervous and hormonal system. Through a specific stimulation of the foot it is possible to mitigate nervous tension and improve bodily functions.  
Reflexology can be accompanied by instrumental music to enable full relaxation.
